I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
